The origins of Disc Dog
In the year 1974, a student and his dog Ashley Whippet leaped over the fence during a nationally broadcast baseball game. Alex had a couple of discs with him, which he threw to the dog, and Ashley left the audience breathless with his catches, to the point that the game was interrupted. Thus, Disc Dog was born.
In disc dog competitions, the dog and handler compete in events such as distance catches and freestyle routines.
