The "Borgo di Castelvecchio federal riding centre" is located in the heart of the Orcia Valley, a UNESCO world heritage site in Tuscany, a stone's throw from Pienza, Montepulciano, San Quirico, Radicofani e Chianciano Terme.
The riding centre is part of the Borgo di Castelvecchio estate which extends over 800 hecters between fields and hills, confined by the Orcia and Fermone rivers.
The centre includes:
– An indoor sand court mt. 45×24
– An outdoor sand court mt. 52×32
– A sand horse walker 20 mt. in diameter
– A grass paddock
All horse riders are welcome to take a rest after training sessions at the hamlet, which overlooks both the agricultural grounds and the equestrian centre. Between the houses, you will find two events halls for technical lessons and/or small conferences and the ancient Granary, which offers one large hall dedicated to replenishment and an adjacent hall with a pool table to enjoy during moments of relaxation.
The technical team of the Borgo di Castelvecchio equestrian centre consists of a OTEB Technician who oversees riders starting from their very first lessons and approach to horses and a second level FISE instructor that guides the more expert riders towards agonistic competitions.
The centre's veterinarian is also available for consultations if necessary.
The Borgo di Castelvecchio's riding centre offers a large range of activities:
Unforgettable rides through breathtaking nature surrounding the ancient Via Francigena and the hilltops of our estate.
Riding lessons both for beginners and advanced agonistic obstacle jump training. After an initial training session, you will be welcome to participate in regular lessons. You will need to become a member of our association and have a valid FISE membership to do so.
We also organise social obstacle jump competitions, level three advancement workshops with qualified instructors and summer camps for young horseback riders, either with their own ponies or the ones from our equestrian centre.
Thanks to her great passion for horses Simona De Angelis, owner of the estate, started her adventure rearing sports horses in 2017.
Every year we choose the best stallions that the global market can offer.
Our main aim is to better our horses' genetic makeup, to enhance the quality and consequently their performance, ensuring a successful sporting career.
We believe that the use of horses for Sporting purposes, whatever they may be, should not disregard the wellbeing of the animals. It is our responsibility to use our expert knowledge and the means we possess to ensure each and every horse gets the treatment it deserves. We also invest in the technical training of all the colleagues at the riding centre.
The Equestrian centre offers a boarding possibility for your horses, be it breeding mares, sports or working horses, fouls or horses that have reached the end of their career. You can rent a place within the paddock or a separate box at the stables where your horse will be looked after and cared for by our trained staff.
Our riding Centre also offers a handling course for both foals born within the centre and young guests up until 4 years of age.
